“ My husband and I took a trip to for our anniversary and this was a highlight of our stay. Mama bear was so welcoming and sweet. I really value having great conversations and experiences. She added the cherry on top! Her customer service skills are outstanding & the food was absolutely amazing! The gator bites and the beignets are so delicious. I will definitely come back! ”

“ Excellent beignets and treats! We visited the downtown location by Amazin’ Mitten. They have more than beignets... and have pretzels with salt or cinnamon sugar. They have Gater bites, gumbo and soup! They offer Bavarian mustard or cheese to dip them in. I do wish they had a gluten free options. Nothing here was gluten free except the coffee and hot cocoa. ”

“ Beignets, Beignets, & Beignets! I may not have tried an original Beignets from New Orleans but for now this is probably one of this best pastry I have eaten. Me and the wife like it just with icing sugar and especially when it’s stil piping hot after they make it. It is quite a heavenly experience to enjoy! Very addicting, so beware and proceed with caution! We tried the hot cocoa since it was colder than usual. I’m surprise that there’s not much place that serves hot cocoa other than here. It was okay, not too bad and not amazing. Overall, definitely will buy beignet whenever I’m around! ”

“ Staff were nice and helpful. This was my first time having beignets. New Orleans is on my bucket list, so this was second best! They were AWESOME as were the dipping sauces (cinnamon was my favorite!)! I also had a cafe au lait and gator bites and got gumbo to go. The gator bites were tasty but so expensive for the little amount of them that came with the order. It would've been nice to know just how few come with the order to make a more educated decision on whether to go ahead with them or not. We ended up going back for more beignets to take home, as well as a mix to (attempt to) make them from home as well as a Benyazed and Confused shirt ”

“ What a totally delightful experience! This little shop has all the fun New Orleans treats in Michigan. The benigets were so good and even revile those in Louisiana—and we’ve been to the original Cafe du Monde! Mamma Bear was working the window and she was as sweet as the treats! We pretty much told every stranger we passed to go there ”

“ The star chart does not do this place justice! I’m from the south brought up on gator and gumbo and all things creole! This place is a unique find in the north and can’t believe how incredibly perfect this experience was! The gator was the cleanest freshest softest meat lightly battered with no burnt oil taste which is super important! The gumbo had all the fixings where every bite had some meat witha little kick not too much though so people with a milder palate can enjoy too! ( I love my too hot for everyone lol) this is a must try and hoping they keep up this already high stars of quality so other can really get a feel for this cuisine! Great job ! ”

“ An amazing little find. Located inside the River Shops right next to the arcade. On such a hot day, the cool, refreshing frozen mocha and bubble tea were so good. The beignets are fantastic as well and this is an absolute must stop if you are in the area. ”
